The Ventura County SELPA is a branch of the Ventura County Office of Education that provides for the special education service needs of children in Ventura County. SELPA stands for Special Education Local Plan Area, and there are 136 SELPAs serving all parts of California.
SELPAs were created in 1977 to ensure that students with disabilities have access to quality special education and related services. The Ventura County SELPA is dedicated to providing information and support to families of children with disabilities so that they can be informed partners in the education of their children.
