The Ventura County Office of Education is pleased to announce the winners of logo design contests for the 2019 Academic Decathlon, Mock Trial and Science Fair. Nearly 150 middle and high school students from throughout Ventura County submitted entries for the contests. The winning design for the Academic Decathlon and Science Fair logos came from Sophia Peate, a student at La Reina High School in Thousand Oaks. Ventura County students maintained their scores on the statewide California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) test, according to new data released by the California Department of Education. The percentage of Ventura County students who met or exceeded the state standards for English language arts (ELA) in 2018 was 49 percent, which is the same as it was in 2017. Ventura County Outperforms State in High School Graduation Rate

Nearly 86 percent of Ventura County high school students graduated in the 2016-17 school year, which is better than the statewide graduation rate of 82.7 percent for the same period. That’s according to newly released data from the California Department of Education (CDE). Students with Autism Begin Summer School at New Camarillo Campus

About 60 students with autism began summer school today at the brand new campus of Triton Academy, located at 550 Airport Way near the Camarillo Airport.The campus was built from the ground up in just seven months. The Ventura County Office of Education officially broke ground on a new special education school in Camarillo Monday evening. The 29,944-square-foot, two-story building will become the new, permanent home of Triton Academy, which serves students with autism in third through twelfth grades.
