AmeriCorps Volunteer Helping Promote Environmental Education in Ventura County

The effort to expand environmental education for Ventura County students is getting a boost from the national AmeriCorps volunteer program. Kate Bilse has joined the Ventura County Office of Education as an AmeriCorps volunteer for the 2020-21 school year. Bilse is a graduate of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where she organized volunteer events for local environmental groups. Two Ventura County Schools have been named National Blue Ribbon Schools for 2020 by the U.S. Department of Education. New VCOE Education Building Completed in Camarillo

The Ventura County Office of Education today marked the completion of the new Mary E. Samples Education Services Center building in Camarillo. The 29,944-square-foot, two-story building at 5250 Adolfo Rd. was finished just over two years after construction began. The California Department of Education (CDE) today released new guidelines for the safe reopening of the state’s public school campuses.
