The Ventura County Office of Education is proud to announce that Dianne Miller has been selected Teacher of the Year for VCOE-operated schools. As a teacher at VCOE's Phoenix School in Camarillo, Miller serves students with serious emotional and behavioral issues. In her 14 years as an educator, Miller has also worked to enhance the lives of students with special needs, including learning disabilities and autism.
"She works daily to create positive learning environments for all students in which their individual needs are met academically, emotionally and physically," said Phoenix School Principal Amy Stencler. "Dianne stands as an exemplary educator within the Ventura County Office of Education community and should be recognized for her outstanding efforts to create positive social/emotional and academic learning environments for students that are historically underserved across the county," Stencler added.
Miller will now advance to the Ventura County Teacher of the Year competition.
