hackathon logoHackathon by the Sea - January 2024

A hackathon is a collaborative event focused on innovative problem-solving, where high school students convene to ideate and develop technological solutions within a condensed timeframe, in our case, 24 hours. The essence of the event is to harness creativity and technical skills to produce cutting-edge projects in an accelerated environment.

OUR STORY

In the spring of 2016, the Career Education Center, along with a team of volunteers from Procore Technologies and the US Navy, set out on an ambitious plan to create a STEM event never before experienced in Ventura County. After several months of planning, Hackathon by the Sea was born.

Traditionally seen as collegiate events, hackathons unleash the power of pure possibility and are at the nexus of mechanical, electrical, and computerized technologies. Our goal is to inspire the next generation of technologists.

Hackathon by the Sea is an overnight event for 9th - 12th grade students in Ventura County. The goal of this event is to empower students by building their confidence in working with technology (computer science, robotics, etc.).
