The School Mobile Library is a joint project of the Ventura County Library and the Ventura County Office of Education. It visits schools throughout Ventura County, focusing on those without credentialed librarians on staff. There are books for students in multiple formats and languages, STEAM instruction and programs, homework support in alignment with school curricula, and access to technology and online resources.
The Mobile Library allows students to sign up for library cards, which will help comply with an upcoming state requirement that all students get library cards by the 3rd grade. During mobile library visits, students engage in lessons on media literacy and financial literacy taught by our credentialed librarian Ashlee Nishiya. The County of Ventura Library Staff provides STEAM kits and other educational activities .
