Our Mission

To use after school programs as a means to close the achievement gap by providing children with opportunities to develop skills, competency, and efficacy in an environment that values children, the love of learning, and achievement.

Our Goal

To improve student achievement by focusing on the implementation of foundational systems that support successful after school programs by concentrating on three pillars we have found to be critical: Accountability, Collaboration, and Alignment. 

The Region 8 Technical Assistance office works with After School Education & Safety (ASES), 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC), and Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P) grantees serving Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo and Kern Counties.

After School Programs provide a safe place for students to engage in a variety of activities including physical education, enrichments, interventions, and homework assistance. The Region 8 office plans and facilitates regional workshops, meetings, and activities to help build capacity for growth within programs through providing support for districts and Community Based Organizations (CBOs) to improve program quality and service for students is our priority.
