The California Preschool Instructional Network provides professional development and technical assistance on the California Early Learning Development System for preschool teachers, transitional kindergarten teachers, and administrators.

VCOE's Inclusive Early Education Expansion Program (IEEEP) brings together a Consortium of 6 LEAs and 2 community based organizations in an effort to increase access to inclusive early learning and care programs for children with disabilities, including children with severe disabilities. This initiative provides consortium partners with professional development and adaptive equipment funds. 

Ventura County's Local Planning Council acts as the united voice for early care and education in Ventura County and is comprised of 25 members appointed by the County Superintendent of Schools and the Board of Supervisors. With a focus on high-quality programming, the Council is tasked with assessing local child care needs, developing a countywide strategic plan, setting priorities for use of state funds, and facilitating the voluntary temporary transfer of funds between state funded programs.

Quality Counts Ventura County (QCVC) works to expand quality early learning opportunities for children ages birth through 5. QCVC, the local implementor of QRIS provides coaching, technical assistance, training, and stipends with a focus on increasing teacher effectiveness and improving environments and interactions. QCVC utilizes several assessments and a 5-tier rating matrix to evaluate continuous quality improvement and provide support based on the quality elements. The system provides a unified effort to prepare children for success in school and life. 

Teaching Stars supports the professional advancement and retention of early childhood educators (including current and prospective transitional kindergarten teachers, state preschool teachers, family child care providers, and others pursuing a degree/coursework in early childhood) by incentivizing activities that promote educator effectiveness, retention, and degree or credential attainment.   

Transitional kindergarten (TK) is the first year of a two-year kindergarten program that is developmentally appropriate and aligned with the Preschool Learning Foundations. VCOE offers resources for TK teachers and administrators.
