Completed in August of 2020, the Mary E. Samples Education Services Center in Camarillo is a new building that houses services for students with special needs. It is the new home of VCOE's Triton Academy, which serves students with autism. It also houses the administrative offices of the VCOE Department of Special Education. The building is named for legendary local educator Mary E. Samples, who is the former head of the Ventura County SELPA and a tireless advocate for students with disabilities. Construction began on the 29,944-square foot, two-story building in June of 2018.
